Officials Required

New Officials Required – Courses Available

We are desperately short of officials at WADAC – we now have only a very small number of officials to attend a large number of matches between them, and we are failing to meet our match obligations in many cases. Some of those who officiate for WADAC are also coaches and we are placing great demands on their time. As a result, we urgently need to expand our team of officials. Not only will this ease the pressure on everyone but one other benefit is that in some leagues we gain valuable points for the officials provided.

It is possible for timekeepers / track judges to work in shifts so you can officiate for a morning or afternoon, leaving you free to watch your child compete for the rest of the day. Field officials cover a limited number of events in a day and have breaks in between so you should still have the opportunity to watch your child compete.

We would be delighted to train more people to officiate so please consider attending one of the courses below. The duration of the course is one day and WADAC will refund the course fee after 12 months if you are able to officiate at 5 or more matches in the twelve months following the course. The course fee is £30. Most matches are on a Saturday or Sunday during the spring and summer months.

  • 1st October – Salisbury – Track
  • 1st October – Salisbury – Timekeeper

Vacancy - University Liaison Officer

We need someone to fill the role of University Liason Officer. This role would not take up much time and does not require any previous experience. The position entails:

  • liaising with athletes and potential new athletes at Winchester University with the aim of attracting new talent into the club, perhaps as second claim members.
  • Forging links with the university so that the students and WADAC could mutually benefit.
