Welsh Castles Relay - calling all WADAC runners...

Welcome to the first news regarding the Welsh Castles 2012. Please read the information carefully as it contains important details regarding your registration.

The great news is that we have requested an entry for two teams again this year: one ladies' team and one mixed team. In the past we have always been successful with our applications, but they are always subject to confirmation as the event is consistently over-subscribed. 

This means we are looking for a lot of enthusiastic participants to come out and run across Wales on the weekend of 9/10 June. If you have never participated before then you really don't know what you have been missing! Imagine a non-stop carnival with dozens and runners and hundreds of supporters winding their way from Caernarfon Castle, all the way south across the splendor of Welsh scenery, to finish at Cardiff Castle. Both days contain ten stages, each of 8-13 mile distance. The WADAC theme has always been to leave our Welsh hosts with the impression that we are the friendliest and happiest club in Britain. We've succeeded every year in that goal, and this year will be even better! 

The teams will be made up entirely of WADAC members who are enthusiastic about the event - that is the only criteria required to make the team!!! Absolutely any standard of runner can run although you need to be confident of running 10 miles.

Only WADAC first-claim members can be entered in our team. Runners must be at least 16 years old on race day (on any of the six stages that are under 10 miles) or at least 17 years old (on stages over 10 miles). Both rules are strictly enforced. 

Here's the good bit... this is how you can guarantee your place on the team!

Places in the teams will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you really want to do the event then there is no other way to guarantee your entry than to get in early! We will need more than forty runners signed up as there are always drop-outs preceding the event. Should you need to withdraw you will receive a full refund (until two weeks prior to the event). In the highly unlikely event that we have more runners than places then you will receive a full refund. 

Entries will cost £25 per runner, which will be payable at time of entry.
