Final SAL Match 2nd August at Winchester sign Up or Help :-)

Please sign up now to take part in or help at the next SAL match on Saturday 2nd August at Winchester. (thanks to those who have already signed up :-))

Following our second place finish at Carshalton we are in seventh place in our division (div 3S),  If we do really well in the final match of the season it is still possible for us to get promoted (top 4 teams in the league go up) so we are looking for as many people to sign up as possible.

The league is for all age groups from U17 through to seniors and veterans (minimum age of 15 on 31st August 2014, there is no upper age limit!).  Points are awarded for two athletes per club per discipline, additional 'non-scoring' athletes are also encouraged.  There are a wide variety of standards of athletes, so you don't need to be experienced in track and field to take part.

The league covers all sprints, relays, hurdles, throws, jumps, middle and long distance runs and steeplechase. For the full choice of events please see the timetable: (http://www.southernathletics.org.uk/assets/files/SALtimetable.pdf)

How to sign Up

It is free to enter and in order to sign up you simply need to email the team managers below with your choice of events now and I will publish the team sheet before the event.

MEN: salmen@wadac.org.uk (Richard Bailey)

WOMEN: salwomen@wadac.org.uk (Sue True)

Can you / parents / friends /brothers / sisters help please?

As it is a home match we need helpers to run the match.

  1. Results entry team (reader/scorer) - 2 people needed to read the results from the results sheets and enter into the computer and to input any team declaration amendments.  (11:30 to 5:30 or any slots between)
  2. Results runner - to bring in results slips from the track to the results team. (12:15 to 5:30 or any slots between)
  3. Announcer - to announce results and scores. (11:45 to 5:30)

please let us know if you can help.

Thanks.

SAL Match in Braunton - Thanks :-)

WADAC finished 4th in our latest SAL match in Braunton last weekend, huge thanks to everyone who made the effort to come on the long journey and to David Vosser who drove the mini-bus and to Dave True who spent the day in the sand pit filling in for officials and to Imogen Emmett and Ella Walsh-Oakes who helped out too.

Everyone put in an extra effort with most athletes competing in a minimum of four events on the day.

There are some photos here: http://www.wadac.org.uk/photos/sal-match-3-braunton-21st-june-2014/#gallery1115146

Full Results can be found here: http://www.southernathletics.org.uk/assets/files/results/2014/14sal3s3braunton.htm

We are now in 7th place in our division and with two matches left we could still work our way into one of the top four promotion spots if we get a good turn out in the next matches.

Please let us know if you are available for the next match at Carshalton on 12th July and let us know what events you would like to do by emailing the team managers below (please indicate if you would be interested in shared transport as we may be able to get a bus/mini-bus if we have enough interest):

Women:  salwomen@wadaac.org.uk (Sue True)

Men: salmen@wadac.org.uk (Richard Bailey)

The final match is at Winchester 2nd August, this is another home match so we will need helpers too,  please put the date in your diary.

Thanks,

Sue
