Midsummer swim

Next Wednesday, 22nd June, the midsummer RR10 has moved to a new location at Marwell Zoo http://www.marwell.org.uk/planning_your_day/directions.asp for directions.

As a result WADAC is adapting, and instead of the usual trip to the beach in Lepe, Karen Hazlitt has very kindly agreed to host our traditional midsummer swim and picnic after the race in her garden with pool. It is tradition to swim in club kit, although a swimming costume would be allowed.

The address is:

Longacre, Hurdle Way, Compton Down, Winchester, SO21 2AN

Directions - From Winchester take the second exit on the roundabout at the end of St Cross Road on to the Otterbourne Road (signposted Compton, Shawford, Otterbourne), take the second right (Hurdle Way), Drive past  Cliff Way and Field Way, Longacre is the second house on the left past the turn to Field Way.

Please bring some picnic food/drinks to share with everyone. All WADAC members are welcome, after completing the run!!

Coach Trip to Ladies Olympic Marathon 5th August 2012

I am trying to gauge the level of interest in hiring a coach to travel to and from Winchester to Central London for the Ladies Olympic Marathon on 5th August 2012.  Likely cost to be about £15 per head.  The actual race is a free event, so for those of us disappointed in the Olympic ticket ballot, this will be a good day out.

Timings etc to be published nearer the time.

Please e mail, masters@wadac.org.uk, if you are interested.

Kat Bonham Skydive!

On Saturday club member Kat Bonham will be throwing herself out of a plane in aid of the British Red Cross.  To raise sponsorship she is doing a guess how many sweets in the jar contest, £1 a go.  Kat will be at the track on Thursday and Tuesday taking guesses.
