A great opportunity for some quality long-run training ahead of your Autumn marathon......in company and all for a good cause!

A number of our members have connections with the Treloar School and College (Treloar School & College Treloar School & College for Disabled Young People) over in Alton and are fund-raising for them as part of their VM London Marathon efforts this year.

This will be a multi-lap event starting at the Treloar School and affording runners the opportunity to do as many miles/km's (notionally up to 20/33) and speed combos as makes sense for your own training plan & fitness levels.

Those wishing to run should meet up in the car park at Anstey Park, Alton (GU34 2NB) in time to be ready to run at 08.30 prompt.

At 08.30 we will all jog off together to the Treloar's school (about a km) where we will be met by the schoolchildren and we will have the start proper with an appropriate send off.

In the car park (and before the jog-off at 08.30) we will have a "drinks vehicle" in which you can place your in-run refreshments and refuelling - this vehicle (a silver Landrover Discovery) will then be parked out on the course thus allowing you to access your drinks after 3k, 15k and 26k. The drinks vehicle will be manned throughout and will have some supplementary water supplies for re-fills but do bring along your own sports drinks and fuelling concoctions - maybe practice with your London water belt?

The finish is back at the Anstey Park carpark where we will have some tea and cake available to help kick-start your recovery.

The route is basically out to start of loop section 2.5k, 2 long loops of about 11.5km each, one short loop of about 5k then 3k back to the finish at Anstey Park - as illustrated in the Strava map linked below:

Runners are of course welcome to make up other loop combinations to suit their own training plans and objectives for the day.....eg out, short loop, back would be about 10k

There are no limits on numbers but please let Cathy know in advance so we have a handle on who is actually out there (and who might be wanting some cake afterwards!).

Please note this is not an official race rather it's a group of friends sharing a training run at their own risk - the roads are open to traffic and other users, there are no marshals, no signposting and you have to make your own way home!
