WADAC senior x-country runners built on Bournemouth’s firm foundations with more strong performances on a testing course of hills, woodland and open fields.
Once again, U20 Lily Neate was the first WADAC runner home in 8th position closely followed by Helen Hall in 9th. Hannah Foster, another U20, completed the team finishing in a very creditable 38th. The senior women consolidated their 5th place league position.
WADAC’s veteran ladies strengthened their hold on first place with Emma Carter, Sam Parkinson and Charlie Hoskins finishing 5th, 6th and 7th in their respective age categories.
Will Boutwood led the Winchester men home, finishing strongly in 4th place. He was ably supported by Fred Slemeck on his club debut finishing in 7th and Callum Upton in 17th. The team was completed by evergreen Dan Cunnington (40th), U20 Doug Scally (42nd) and the much improved Lloyd Dickson (47th). Placed 5th in Division 1 they have Basingstoke firmly in their sights for the next round of racing. The vets team share 6th place with Salisbury, Rich Bidgood, David Comb and Andy Parkinson making up the team.
The next outing for WADAC is the 11th December at Croydon for the Southern Maters and Inter-counties Championship. Looking a little further ahead, entries are now open for the Hampshire Championships on Saturday 8th Jan at Fairthorne Manor and the next league race at Aldershot on the 15th Jan.
