Weekend Track & Field results

Sue Van Vuuren (self coached) showed that age needn't be a barrier to improvement as she ran a pb time of 8.76 secs in the 60m at the London indoor games (U20 & Senior) at Lee Valley at the weekend. 5 hundredths of a second quicker than when Sue last ran indoors at the British Masters championships at the same venue 6 years earlier, Sue who can be found training at the track most days showed that she will be very competitive in the V50 age group this season going 2nd in the UK rankings behind commonwealth games silver medalist Michelle Thomas.

At the same meeting Harry Crosby (coach Andy Fisher) opened his indoor season with a pb of 7.09 secs in the 60m good enough for 2nd place on the clubs U20 indoor list. Harry also ran a 50.09 sec 400m which broke the clubs U20 indoor record.

On Sunday, Oliver Thatcher (coach Andy Fisher) continued his collegiate season in the States with a pb of 3.90m in the pole vault going 2nd behind Charlie Maw in the clubs all time indoor list and added a pb of 8.92 secs in the 60m hurdles where he tackled the senior specifications for the 2nd time.
