Club Achievements

WADAC is very proud of all the achievements of its members at a local, county, regional, national and international level. Whilst it is not possible to list every achievement made by teams and individuals at the club we have set out below some of the achievements of the club and its members. Thank you to all the athletes, coaches, officials, and other helpers who have contributed to these achievements over the years.

We aim to cover most county, regional, national and international competitions.

2022- 2023

Team:

  • The Club secured promotion in the Lower UDL (winning all their matches in Division 2A to get promoted to Division 1A) and SAL (winning three of the matches in Division 3 West to get promoted to Division 2 West);

  • Second place in the Women's Vets league and third place in the Men's Vets League;

  • Ladies' team won the RR10 league with the men coming 4th;

  • Ladies' team won the HRRL with the men's team coming second;

  • the men's and women's team secured 1st place in the CC6;

  • the u11 boys, u13 boys and girls secured the Hampshire Sports hall title and the u13s came second;

  • Quadkids won the Wessex title;

  • in the Hampshire cross country league the u15 boys, ladies vets team, and senior mens team securing gold medals, u13 boys, u15s girls u17s men and men vets team securing silver and senior woman securing bronze;

  • nine medals at the South of England indoor age group championships - one gold, one silver and seven bronze;

  • seven golds and three bronzes for the juniors at the Hampshire Cross Country Championships;

  • the senior ladies and vet ladies secured silver and gold and the Vets men secured gold at the Hampshire Country Cross country championships;

  • u11 girls get gold and the u11 boys secure silver in the Wessex Cross country league;

County team medals:

  • Won gold in the South Downs Relay;

  • 43 gold, 29 silver and 25 bronze medals secured at the Hampshire Track and field championships (34 medals more than the second place team);

  • Emma Carter won the v50 ladies' title and Andy Parkinson won the v50 men's title in the RR10;

  • Wayne Bevan secured v40 men's title in the CC6 with Steve Oliver taking second place in the v60;

Individual:

  • Moira West secured the v70 women's 60m and 200m titles in the British Masters Indoor Champs and at the Southern Counties;

  • Grace Colmer secured third place in the National Combined Event Champs (u20 and seniors);

  • Grace Colmer (senior girls) won the Regional (South East) Championships for schools combined events;

  • Stuart McCallum finished 12th in the men's 5000m and Lily Neate finished 12th in the u20 women's 3000m at the UK Athletics Championships;

  • a record 19 athletes selected to take part in English Schools Championships with Bella Wilson (U17) and Charlie Elford Pond (u17) securing titles in the 300m and hammer respectively and Amy Wall (u17s) securing a bronze in the LJ;

  • Sam Clifton came 6th at the National U20 Championships;

  • Ruben Price came 9th in the British Triathlon Championships (T3) and the South Central team secured gold (which included Ruben, Ethan Skipwith and Ben Phillips);

  • At South of England Track and Field Championships (u13 to u17) we secured 2 golds, 5 silvers and a bronze medal;

  • Laura Clark competed in the 400m at the English National Senior Championships;

  • 17 athletes met the required standard to compete in the England Athletics u15 and u17s Championships with Harry Wilson (u17) securing a silver in the 1500m, Charlie Elford Pond (u17) securing silver in the hammer and Bella Wilson (u17) securing silver and bronze in the 300m and LJ respectively;

  • 6 athletes competed in UK School Games including Charlie Elford Pond and Alexander Beck (all u17s) who secured bronze in the hammer and 400m respectively and Arabella Wilson (u17s) who secured silver in the 300mH;

  • U15 girl Gracie Osman secured a silver medal in the pentathlon at the National indoor championships;

  • Eve Bailey won a bronze medal at the Welsh National Championships (cross country);

  • Lily Neate secured 3rd place at the National Cross Country Championships;

  • Kathryn Miles won a bronze medal in the 100m and 200m at the British Masters Indoor Championships;

  • Mia Judd wins the u17W HJ at the National Indoor Championships and Lucia Bertacchini secured silver in the u15 300m, and Gracie Osman and Zac Reynolds secured bronze in the u15G LJ and u15B 300 m respectively;

  • Annie Mann invited to complete in her first World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold event;

  • Helen Hall secured the Hampshire Ladies Cross Country title;

  • 7 athletes invited to join the EA pathway programme;

  • Abi Belward won bronze in the u17W pentathlon at the South of England Indoor Championship and Gracie Osman won gold in the same event for the u15G;

County individual medals and vests:

  • In the Hampshire Schools Athletics Association Combined Events Champs. Zac Reynolds (junior boys), Gracie Osman (junior girls) and Abi Belward (intermediate girls) all took gold and Lucia Bertacchini (junior girls) and Carys Jeffries (intermediate girls) secured silver;

  • 24 athletes were selected by Hampshire to compete in the inter-counties track and field matches;

  • 20 titles at the County Schools Championships;

  • Tamsin Anderson and Sarah Gurney came first and second in the HRRL;

  • 15 junior athletes represented Hampshire in the SEAA Inter-counties cross country match;

Vests:

  • Bella Wilson and Charlie Elford Pond earnt England vests in the Home International Schools Match in Belfast following the titles they secured in English Schools;

  • Charlie Elford Pond selected for England Throws Camp Team;
