Junior Triathlon / Duathlon News and Results

WADAC’s junior duathlon/triathlon group has been running since 2018. The group was set up to encourage children from swim, run and cycling backgrounds to try the sport, as it was recognised that lots of runners at the club also swim and cycle.

The sessions follow the principles of British Triathlon Federations Skills School. To enhance the process of development by helping athletes and coaches explore fun and creative ways to be their best. The aim is to create a constructive learning atmosphere focused on developing skills in engaging environments. Improving the athlete and coach experience and increase retention in the sport. Basically making it fun!

A lot of what the group does is train that 4th discipline, the transition, as most bring run and swim fitness from their other weekly sessions. However we do provide swim sessions when we can secure pool time, and also an introduction to open water.

Children are welcome from all levels, ranging from those simply wanting to do a try Tri event to those aiming for South Central Academy selection.

Sessions are currently Saturday afternoons at 3-4.30 pm and cover school years 4-8.
