Harestock Handicap - 3rd December 2015

Undaunted by the dark, wet and windy conditions 22 runners turned out to contest the final race of the 2015 series. All the usual protagonists were there including 9 of the top 10 in the overall standings before the race.....whatever the weather they were going to have their say in the shakedown!

nAs it happens the fates had a trick or two in store and none of the above hopefuls even made the top three in tonights race. Our winner was Emma Rolfe recording a stonking 43 second PB to be home clear ahead of another relative newcomer Ann-Sophie who also got on the PB trail with a 27 second improvement. We look forward to great things from this pair next year. Emma becomes our 12th different winner this year and completes a dream 12 out of 12 score for the handicapper - happy days. Karen Hazlitt made up the top three with a fine sub-7 run and we had 2 event newbies taking part, Sarah Gurney and Mike Billingham, welcome both.

nJames Moore was again our fastest runner on the night with a 6'15 but it really wasn't a night for fast times and only 5 runners dipped under 7 minutes.

nThere is no update on the overall standings at this time - the results are with the scrutineers and will be announced at the December Pub-of-the-month meeting on 15th December. We do know however that James Moore and Robert Bryan have both managed to complete all 12 handicap races in 2015 - congratulations to you both.
