Harestock Handicap - 5th May 2016

Despite a number of regulars being away this month we had 21 runners contesting the May Handicap. These included 3 event Newbies in Emma Gorwood, Julia Hill and Rob Carter plus 2 others making their first appearance of this year. It was a night for fast running - if you didn't have post marathon legs that is - and we had 5 runners under 7 minutes plus a number of big improvements if not PB's throughout the field, all in all 12 runners managed to meet or beat their handicap.
n
nOur winner was Adrian Haughton, bravely pipping his wife Janet into 2nd on the line, both ran PB's but even so......Adrian what were you thinking? Our third place tonight was Ianthe Edgeley also showing big improvement and being rewarded with a new PB.
n
n
n
nFastest on the night was Joe Chick with a sparkling 6'10, followed by James Moore in 6'14.
nSpecial mention for 2 of our newbies, Emma Gorwood becomes only the 3rd lady on our honours board with her fantastic 6'59 putting her on the board at Number 52 and Rob Carter is also on the board, his 6'51 putting him at No.41.
n
n
n
nIn the overall standings Carrie Oliver is our new leader from Jonathan Kane, Adrian Field and Emma Carter but still early days as there are still 7 races and 3 discards to be factored in......even a total Newbie could still win this!

n
n
nThe next running of the handicap will be the first Thursday of June, ie the 2nd June. Meet at the track 18.45 for 19.00, all welcome we can determine handicaps on the night.
