Overton 5 Results

We had a great turn-out of 12 ladies and 21 gents all taking on the new course which to be honest didn't feel much less hilly than the last route and had a bit of a frustratingly narrow start.

nAnyway our fabulous ladies didn't let the undulations or bottle-neck bother them at all with Sam Parkinson, Sarah Shedden and Susy Perry bringing home the first team prize. Sam also picked up an award for being third in the V35 category and Sarah Gurney was given the third prize in V45 (though the results seem to now suggest that she was fourth in that category). Sarah made our B-team with Penny Freeman and Jo Curtis and the C-team consisted of Emma Carter, Liz Marshall and Sally Easton.

nIn the men's race Southampton AC had a very strong bunch of youngsters and took the first team prize convincingly with their top man and race winner Mahamed Mahamed averaging less than 5 minutes per mile to finish in 24m49s! However the always reliable Toby Lambert came home as the second gent and together with Tim Smales, Simon Stevens and Nick Wood made up our men's A-Team who I believe took the second spot behind Soton. Our B-Team was James Moore, Joe Chick, Andy "Flipflop" McGhee and Ian Debnam, and the C-Team Bruce Ayling, Steve Oliver, Colin McManus and Robert Bryan.
