ABP Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k Southampton

At the ABP Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k races in Southampton attracted
nover 9000 entrants for the series of races. WADAC,s best performances came in
nthe Half with the ladies totally outdoing the gents. The first and second WADAC
nathletes in the Half were Simone Dailey 18th and Kathy Bailey 33rd
nbut more importantly Simone was the overall ladies winner in 80.09 with Kathy 3rd
nlady overall in 82.17 and inevitably WADAC won the Female team event in the
nHalf. The first WADAC gent home was new Club Secretary Ian Berry-Bowers (83.04)
nin 39th overall which gave him 5th V40M. The next runners
nhome were James Moore (84.59) 54th and Jonathan Prest (87.06) who
nwas 71st overall but impressively 3rd V50M. The gents
nteam was 8th overall. Other leading WADAC Half Marathon performances
nwere Lloyd Dickson (90.25) 128th; Mike Chambers (90.58) 135th
n: George Belfield (90.59) 136th ; Miguel Flores (91.44) 153rd
n: Emma Gorwood (93.46) 186th:
nKaren Hazlitt (94.19) 198th
n(2nd V40F) : Adrian Haughton (95.18) 226th : Matt
nKurton (95.28) 240th.
nIn the gruelling two lap Full Marathon there were good
nperformances by Matt Grote 3.16.24 46th and Colin McManus 3.22.21 64th ;
nAndrew Olden 3.50.34 275th to give WADAC 9TH team
nposition overall. Mark Wilson ran 4.05.27 460th and Robert Bowler
n4.08.49 492nd (7th V60M).In the 10k race WADAC had Simon
nHarvey prominent in 50th (43.59) .
