HRRL Race 12: Lordshill 10k Results
14 WADAC men and 14 WADAC ladies arrived on a refreshingly cloudy morning to do their very best in the well organised and superbly marshalled 10k that started and finished at the Ordnance Survey offices in Lordshill.
nKath Bailey completed the season in amazing form and was our first lady finisher in an impressive 37m30s, coming in as the third lady overall and the first in the F45 category. This final result sees Kath convincingly win the ladies individual league, a result made all the more impressive when you consider that her strongest competition are all about half her age. Susy Perry put in a very strong performance to finish next as the third lady in the F35 category and the final member of our A-team was Penny Freeman.Sarah Gurney was just a few seconds behind and as well as being the first member of our B-team also came second in the F45 category. Natalie Cain was next and the ladies B-team was completed by Joy Radford who was also the second to finish in the F55 age group. Our C-team was comprised of Jo Curtis (third F55), Emma Carter and Mikaela Price.

nOur ladies' A-team was placed second behind Southampton AC, meaning they were the first of the teams in A-division-1. Therefore they obviously finish the season at the top of the table and will again win the league trophy. Well done ladies! However next season the Southampton AC ladies' A-team will be promoted to join us in A-Div-1 and will almost certainly give some formidable competition. The B-team finished first of the teams in their division so complete the season convincingly in the top spot. Our ladies' C-team came fourth of the teams in B-Div-1 but unfortunately that sees them just pipped at the post with the ladies of Lordshill B only one point ahead and nudging us back to finish the season in third place.
n
nJames Moore was our first gent to finish in 36m37s and was joined in our A-team by Matt Grote, Danny Kyle and George Belfield, with both Matt and Danny trimming a few seconds off their respective historic 10k times to gain new PBs.Our B-team consisted of Joe Chick, Bruce Ayling, Lloyd Dickson and Colin McManus, and the C-team included Steven Lowy, Rob Bryan, Saul Duck and Rob Porter.Jonathan Kane also finished second in the M70 category.
n
nIn terms of the league our gents' A-team finished fifth of the ten teams in Division-1 which means we have just held onto third place as the season closes in the closest possible battle with the chaps from Denmead Striders. Our gents' B and C-teams finished second and tenth respectively out of the fifteen teams in B-Div-1 meaning they complete the season by remaining in the second and eleventh slots in the table. Great news for the B-team to secure the runners-up award.
n
nThanks to everybody that ran and to you all for your participation and support throughout the whole season. See you all at the Overton 5 on Sunday 3rd September!
