nThe second Hampshire Cross Country League fixture took place at the new venue of the Queen Elizabeth County Park near Petersfield and WADAC athletes took part in the force. The course was very difficult with the hill described as “brutal”

nThe WADAC Under 15 boys team is improving all the time and again led by the talented Doug Scally they were 2nd team on the day. Doug was 7th and with James Medley 11th and Sam Roberts 13th completing the scoring team. Dominic Exworthy 26th, Theo Roberts 39th and Joseph Baker 48th were other WADAC U15B competitors.

nRose Chesterfield after her magnificent win in the opening U13G race again ran very well to come home 2nd to Summer Woodhead of Guernsey. With Rose so prominent this meant that WADAC were able to close in 2nd place in the team event. Amelia Moore had a first class run in 9th and Ellie McErlean was 13th giving WADAC their scoring team. There was a really good turnout in the U13G race and Aisling Hitchman 30th, Emma Shedden 32nd, Jasmine Jones 38th, Phoebe Mcgee 49th, Izzy Stout 66th, Erin Willis 69th, Evie West 70th.

nIn the combined Senior, Vet & U20 womens race, India Lee 4th & Mel Wilkins 5th had superb runs among the many Aldershot vests at the head of the field. Simone Dailey had another good run to claim 11th position and close in the Senior womens team for 2nd place on the day and are equal 1st with Aldershot overall. Jo Meek was 13th and 2nd Vet women. Kate Towerton 16th, Kath Bailey 19th and 3rd Vet, Hannah Knapton 24th which gave her 5th Under 20, Sam Parkinson 39th was 7th vet which completed the WADAC vets team for victory in the Vets team competition. Other WADAC finishers- Susie Perry 41st ; Natalie Cain 46th : Charlotte Hoskins 55th ; Jo Jefferies 69th : Sue True 74th : Joy Radford 98th ; Harriet Spelman 99th ; Kate Pretty 117th : Ella Morgan 121st and Madeline Vosser 131st.Grace Mann 8th again had fine consistent run in the Under 17 womens race to lead WADAC team home in 4th position with Gabrielle Spelman 16th and Poppy Clements 18th being the other team scorers. Isla Allan 29th was WADAC’s other U17W finisher.

nHannah Foster again ran well being first home for WADAC in the Under 15 Girls race in 13th she was backed up well by Isabella Beck 16th and Lily Neate 23rd to help WADAC to 5th team position. Katie Nicholson also ran finishing 38th.

nThe pair of Michael Shingleton-Smith & Thomas Briggs both had fabulous runs in the Under 13 boys race to finish 5th and 7th respectively. Matthew Duckering 24th was the 3rd scorer for WADAC and they were 3rd and are 2nd overall on aggregate. To emphasise a good turnout in the U13B race Ben Yates 26th, Charlie Cox 27th, Ben Chesterfield 32nd, Ben Schofield 34th, James Salter 36th, Matthias Truchon 55th, Toby Pace 56TH, Connor Dutton 59th, Patrick Hewson were other WADAC finishers.

nThe longest race of the day was the Senior, Vet and U20 mens race. James Heneghan had an very good run to come home 12th overall and to be 2nd U20M. George King was next home for WADAC in 30th but they lacked numbers to back this dup up and the next runners home to complete the Senior team were Richard Parr 68th Pete Sansome 87th and Tom Smales 88th. The team were 6th on the day. Sam Appleton 89th : Marcus Green 91st Wayne Bevan 105th : Keir Sullivan 130th : Peat Allan 180th, Matt Kurton 240th were the other WADAC runners in a field of almost 300.

nThere were races for Under 11 athletes held prior to the main League races. In the U11B race WADAC athletes dominated with James Lewis once again victorious with team-mate Tom Grote in 2nd place. Also in the top 10 were Harry Gaster 5th, Evan Jeremiah 6th and Stan Parkinson 12th. Other WADAC- Sam Wilkinson 15th; Ian Brian 17th ; Ieuan Thomas 21st ; William Hasan 25th ; Haydn Moore 28th ; Jacob Hutchins 32nd ; Casper Wilson 33rd ; Finlay Paterson 36th ; Archie Chapman-Sheath 37th ; Joshua Cox 44th ; Aymeric Truchon 48th ; Conor McErlean 53rd.

nIn the U11G race Safiya Hussain ran steadily to be first WADAC runner home in 12th. Isla Bircham 15th, Lucy Jones 18th and Rebecca Hutchings 20th all made the top 20. Other WADAC- Lauren McGee 25th, Elfye Richards 31stt and Imogen Watson 32nd

nThe third League match of the season will be held at Popham Airfield in December.
