Janesmoor CC6 results

The Santa themed CC6 race at Janesmoor Pond last Sunday proved to be one of the wetter and windier ones in recents times. Despite the challenging conditions 19 men and women from Winchester came to compete in the mud! Susy Perry led the ladies in coming 3rd, her highest finish this season, Abbey Connor and Emma Carter provided season bests' coming in 9th and 14th, ensuring our women's team finished 2nd on the day. This means at the halfway stage of the CC6 season we are second (to Lordshill, last season's women's team winners), and we have the advantage of hosting the next race. Caroline Carr came in 18th (another SB), Louise Snook 30th and Joy Radford competing in her third race this season came 35th. Joy is tantalisingly close to sealing the V60 category class.
nThe 9 men, were lead in by Pete "Mr December" Sansome who stormed in at 13th (and leading V40), Andy Parkinson 20th, Colin "4 out of 4" McManus 28th and Simon "Rastamouse" Tarrant debuted with 36th. This meant the men's team came in 6th on the day, only one point behind Stubbington, leaving us 8th (out of 16 men's teams) so far in the season. Despite competing in the Southern Masters the previous day Steve Oliver skipped to 41st. Stephen "skipper" Lowy trudged in 46th, Martyn West 51st and first V60 (like Joy, another favourite for winning his age category), Robert "they cancelled my bike tour" Bryan came in 54th, Adrian Haughton 59th brought in another SB, Steve Cluett 67th, Peter Watts 89th despite a nasty slip near the finish, Andrew Whitmore 102nd and Tom Vamos swept in at 112th.
nWe will be hosting the next race on Whiteshute Ridge by Badger Farm, Sunday 7th January. So we need you all to hang up your trail shoes and don marshal's bibs. More details to follow.
