HRRL Race 4: Hayling 10 Mile Write-up and Results
The Hayling 10 Mile is never the most popular race of the season. Sitting snugly between the Gosport Half and the Victory 5 if you're going to drop any race then it's an obvious choice. It's also quite a long way from home, doesn't have chip timing and has a fair proportion of trail running. However on a day that wasn't too cold, too windy or too wet underfoot, ten WADAC men and eight WADAC ladies took to the course that has a couple of nice loop-backs allowing all to see the race unfold.
nOur ladies’ A-team consisted of Kathy Bailey, Annie Dixey and Jo Curtis, with Kath picking up the prize for the 1st F45 and Jo the second F60.Jackie Ducker, Shirley Dyson-Laurie and Marie Kille made up our B-team and the incomplete C-team included Gill Goodwin and Sarah Aldridge.

nSimon Stevens put in a cracking time of 57m16s to finish fourth overall and the first M45. He headed up our gent's A-team and was joined by Matt Grote, Chris Setters and Miguel Flores.George Belfield, Saul Duck, Steve Goodwin and Mark Wilson made up our B-team and unfortunately Richard Munro and Jonathan Kane didn't have anyone to join them to make a C-team, though Jonathan was the second finisher in the M75 vets category.

nWith such a relatively sparse turnout we were unlikely to feature significantly in the team results so we have slipped a few places down in the league tables, but there's still plenty of the season to come - just please make sure you all get your entries in ASAP for all the 2018 races
