HRRL Race 12: Lordshill 10k write up and end of season results
On Sunday 24th June 17 gents and 11 ladies ran for WADAC on what was a very warm day, even at 9:30am. The first kilometre or so was on a narrow country path with frustratingly little opportunity to pass or really find a rhythm but after that the course opened up nicely and on a primarily "there-and-back" route it was pleasing to be able to see the race unfold both in front and behind.
nKathy Bailey was our first lady to finish and won first prize in the F50 category. She was joined on our A-team by Sarah Gurney and Susy Perry. In spite of some confusion on the day that saw the ladies' team prize incorrectly awarded to Salisbury AC it transpired that our A-team ladies actually came first, just ahead of Southampton AC.Sarah Shedden, Emma Carter and Joy Radford made up the ladies' B-team with Joy collecting the prize for first F60.Our C-team consisted of Louise Snook, Marie Kille and Charlotte Sharman.
n
nSimon Stevens was our first gent followed by James Moore. Lloyd Dickson and George Belfield completed our A-team with solid performances all round.Simon Gillett, Andrew Parkinson, Alexander Whiting and Adrian Haughton made up our B-team and things were rounded off by our gents' C-team of Matt Kurton, Robert Bryan, Stephen Lowy and Saul Duck.

nEnd of Season League Results:
n The race win for our ladies' A-team was unfortunately not able to affect the end of season league places, leaving them in the runner-up position just one point behind the youngsters from Southampton AC. This is still an amazing result with the best eight race results that count towards that final score being five first places and three seconds for WADAC (against Southampton's six first and two second - it really couldn't have been closer). The race result for our ladies B-team saw them again come first out of the teams in their division meaning a very convincing win overall with a perfect score of eight first places. Our C-team also had a strong finish to the season which has resulted in them securing third place in that same division.Well done ladies!
n
nOur gents' A-team were the fifth team at the Lordshill10k which resulted in them finishing the season comfortably third overall in that table. This is a cracking result for our gents when considering the size and strength of the teams they have been up against. Our B-team finished the race fourth of the B-Division teams which means that they end the season as overall runners-up in that table - another very admirable placing. Finally our gents' C-team completed the season in a healthy seventh position out of the fifteen teams in that same division.
n
nSo as hoped, we wrap things up with five of our six teams finishing in the top three in their divisions. This is clear testament to the commitment and breadth of talent we have in every WADAC runner that gave up a chunk of their Sunday to run in any of this season's twelve races - thank you all. And a special mention must go to Sarah Aldridge who ran in all twelve!
n
nWADAC also had ten gents and six ladies who ran seven or more of the season's races and therefore earned themselves a position in the individual league tables (with a good number finishing in the top ten) so congratulations to all of them:
