Pete Sansome retains the WADAC RR10 Trophy

The WADAC RR10 trophy is awarded to the highest placed WADAC athlete in the RR10 ranking table. Competition is fierce and winning requires consistently high performance over the season. Pete Sansome deservedly retains the trophy after contesting 8 of the 9 races we are allowed to race in and, on average, beating 98.13% of the competition and winning his age category trophy for the league. Pete also pitched in as a marshall at our host event - which doesn't count towards the trophy but which we much appreciate too !
nJames Moore was our runner up...contesting 7 from 9, winning a race and on average beating 97.37% of the competition, close but no cigar James! Sam Parkinson, a former winner of the WADAC trophy was third....contesting 6 from 9, beating 96.5% of her competition and finishing as runner up in her age category for the league itself.
nOverall it has been a fantastic RR10 season and much credit must go to our team manager, Emma Carter. Across the 9 events we are allowed to contest no fewer than 88 different WADAC athletes turned up to compete in the Black & Gold. Such was the team spirit over the season that it felt like we had nearly that many marshalling at our season ending host event where we entertained a record 507 runners. Not just numbers but quality too - the ladies won the league and provided the race winner on 5 separate occasions - the men finished third and provided the race winner twice. Pete Sansome and Martyn West won their respective age group trophies.
nIt all starts again in April - Wednesday evenings through the summer....free to enter so do plan on joining in next year!
