Harestock Handicap Results - Aug 2018
As the holiday season and warm weather continues so too does the Harestock Handicap.....there were 16 runners out to contest the August event including one welcome newbie in Stuart Outterside. On a good night for fast running (if you didn't have tired legs from the RR10 the night before) 11 runners managed to meet or beat their handicap and 10 of those were in the sweetspot that is the blanket finish. Our winner on the night was Mark Craven, our 8th different winner of the year and continuing the streak of podium diversity that makes a handicapper so happy. Alan Hitch was second in a new sub-8min PB of 7'55 and third was Louise Snook continuing her recent good form to also record a new PB of 8'29.
nFastest on the night was Kevin Frisby, another runner in fine form and moving up to No.38 on the honours board with a fantastic new PB of 6'36. Rob Weekes was second fastest with a fine 6'47 to join the honours board at No.55 and 3rd fastest was Rob Bryan with 6'50.

nAs regards the overall standings Matt Lavers was again unable to join us and has slipped off the top where Adrian Haughton now leads the way. All is not yet lost however as with 4 races and 2 discards to factor into the maths there are still many twists and turns to come and perhaps 9 runners who can realistically still top the pile at the end of the year. Matt Lavers currently lies second with Louise Snook third. As ever the key to success is to get out there and contest the handicap whenever you can....you've got to be in it to win it.
nThe September Handicap will be on the first Thursday of the month....the 6th Sept.Meet at the track 18.45 for 19.00. Newbies (and Oldies) all welcome we can make up suitable handicaps on the night.
