Hampshire Sportshall League Match 2
The second Hampshire Sportshall League match took place at the Applemore Leisure Centre in the New Forest area. The League is made up from teams representing Winchester & District (WADAC) , Southampton, Portsmouth, New Forest Juniors, Aldershot & Farnham. Havant, Andover & Overton.
nWADAC had teams in both the girls and boys Under 11 and Under 13 team competitions.

nSam Mballa shares his talents between Athletics and Football and on this occasion showed his athletics prowess by winning the Under 13 boys competition. Sam had the equal best performance in the Speed Bounce with 79 in 30 seconds and also impressed with a Standing Triple Jump (STJ) of 6.46m to win that event. Oscar Hoult and Oscar Webb could not be separated in equal 4th, Oscar H shared the best speed bounce total of 79 with Sam and was 3rd equal in the 2 Lap race in 25.0. Oscar W won the Shot with a solid throw of 7.23m, plus running 25.0 in the 2 Lap race and 2nd position in the STJ with 6.42m. WADAC won the team competition with Stan Parkinson completing the scoring four in 9th place having the 3rd best 4 Lap time in 52.7. Other U13B WADAC were Joseph Benzie 16th Monty Wyatt 17th.

nSam Nicholson performed really well again in the Under 11 boys section finishing 2nd in a field of 53 athletes. Sam produced an excellent STJ of 5.78m for the 3rd best jump of the day , he also had 4th best performances in the 3 Lap 39.5 and Speed Bounce 50 in 20 seconds. Daniel Harrison was next best for WADAC in 10th place having a superb run in the 1 Lap sprint with 12.9 for 2nd fastest time of the day. Lucas Steel was again consistent in 18th overall; the scoring team was completed by Josh Davies in 26th. WADAC were 3rd in the U11B team event behind Southampton and New Forest Juniors. Other WADAC U11B were Benno Thomas-Machleidt 47th and Nicolas Izak 51st.

nThe Under 13 girls team were 3rd with best placed WADAC girl Annabella Marsh in 9th with her best events being Speed Bounce 75 in 30 seconds 6th and STJ 5.49m also for 6th. Next best was Jemima Sullivan in 11th who had a Speed Bounce total of 75 and the other WADAC scorers were Elisa De Liberali 15th who had a good run in the 4 Lap 55.8 and Grace Weeks 18th again with a good 4 Lap of 56.2. The other WADAC U13G performers were Addie Thomas 19th, Lucy Thomson 20th, Jasmine Farrand 23rd, Lucy Smith 27th, Talya Wright 29th and Isabelle Ward 30th.
nThe Under 11 girls was the most competitive age group with over 80 girls taking part. Elsa Edgecombe in her first ever Sportshall competition achieved a fine debut placing 11th overall with a Chest Push of 5.75m being the 8th equal best distance of the day and also a speedy 13.4 in the 1 Lap race. The WADAC U11G are inexperienced and so gain invaluable knowledge of the sport with these League matches. Sara Bucci was the second placed WADAC athlete in 36th with the scoring team being made up with Bethany Mballa 45th and Livvy Vaughan 54th. The U11G team were 10th overall emphasising their inexperience. The rest of U11G were Sophia Ward 60th, Veronica Bucci 64th, Emily Thomas-Machleidt 65th Alice Ngwata 75th Polly Newman 77th and Ruby Foster 81st.
