Third Wessex XC Event at Yeovil

Athletes and parents who braved the long trip to Yeovil were treated to more traditional cross-country conditions of rain and mud for the 3rd Wessex League fixture of the season.

nNumbers of entries were lower than expected, but enthusiasm was high as the team set about the hilly Somerset course.

nIn the Under 11 Girls race, Poppy Taylor was again the leading WADAC contender, finishing a consistent 8th. Summer Curtis finished 15th, Emily Phillips 18th, Ella Ramage 25th, Lucy Skipwith 27th and Lucy Smart 29th.

nIn the Under 11 Boys race, the WADAC team all ran well and were finished in close succession. Casper Wilson was 6th, Ethan Skipwith 8th, Bradley Lewis 9th, Joshua Cox 14th and Thomas Savill 15th.

nIn the Under 13 Boys race, Charlie Cox ran to a fine 3rd place, closely followed by Jack Moores in 7th.

nIn the Under 13 Girls race, Eva Ackerman 21st and Maisie Curtis 22nd worked well together to place well in a strong field.

nIn the Under 15 Girls race Rebecca Mitchell placed 15th.

nFinally, in the seniors race, William Hadley 10th and Pete Curtis 23rd braved two full laps of hilly Yeovil course to finish the day.

nThe Yeovil venue has recently been sold off to developers, so this might be the last Wessex fixture on this course, which is shame, as it is one of the better cross country races out there.

nThe final Wessex League Cross Country event is on the 16th December at Bryanston School, Blandford Dorset. Please enter via the WADAC members website by 9th December, if you wish to enter. Anyone who entered the first race, is already registered.
