Harestock Handicap Results - December 2018

22 runners turned out to contest the December Handicap and to complete the 2018 series in fine style. We had 3 very welcome event newbies in Jack Tooze, Louise Dixon and Catherine Beardwell. Overall 11 runners succeeded in meeting or beating their handicap and coincidentally there were also 11 runners crossing the line in the sweetspot of the blanket finish. Unfortunately in a tight bunch finish one mans sweetspot is another mans unruly stramash.....sorry Emma!
nOur winner on the night was Adrian Haughton signing off his 2018 handicap season in style as our only runner to complete all 12 events this year and bookending that with race wins in January and December. Great stuff but is it good enough to win the overall trophy? No-one knows but you can be first to find out if you come to the Xmas bash next week. Second on the night was Stuart Outterside and third was Adrian Field.
nFastest on the night was again James Moore with a routine (for him) 5'55 with Andrew White next posting a PB equalling 6'15 (No.17) and Dan Carter making up the fastest three with a new PB of 6'35, up to No.39. Overall we had 5 at 7mins or under including one of our newbies, Jack Tooze, whose 7'00 puts him onto the honours board at No.86.

nAs regards the overall standings the season is now complete all 12 races (and 4 discards) have been entered into the system and have been submitted to WADA for ratification. The computers in the Bahamas are busy chewing through the terrabytes but....no-one will know the overall result of the 2018 Harestock Handicap series before the Christmas Party on Weds 12th December. If you want to be the first to know buy a ticket via this website and be there on the night http://membership.wadac.org.uk...
nThere is of course also the 2019 Harestock Handicap to look forward to and now is the time to make that resolution to be part of it next year.....one thing is for sure if you are not there on January 3rd 2019 you won't achieve the magical 12 out of 12 in 2019.
nThe January 2019 Handicap will be, as ever, on the first Thursday of the month...the 3rd.
nMeet at the track 18.45 for 19.00. All welcome we can make up suitable handicaps for newbies on the night.
