Harestock Handicap Results - January 2019
23 runners turned out to contest the January Handicap and to get the 2019 series off to a great start. We had 2 very welcome event newbies in James Heyman and Steve Hockney. On a chilly night conditions were set for fast running and we had 9 runners meeting or beating their handicap and 11 runners crossing the line in the sweetspot that is the blanket finish.
nOur winner on the night was Carrie Oliver chased all the way to the line by a fast finishing posse of young men! James Heyman on debut was second with Dan Carter third and Jack Tooze in 4th - all these three inspiring each other to new PB's.
nFastest on the night was Dan Carter continuing to improve and posting a huge PB of 6'15 which moves him up to No.17 on the honours board. Dave Gaskell was 2nd fastest with a new PB of 6'32 and up to No.36. James Heyman on debut delivered 6'34 and is a new entry at No.40, way better than the 19'30 parkrun time he blagged of in his handicap review ! Inspired by the quality of the runners around him and the thrill of the chase Jack Tooze also recorded a significant improvement in his PB and with 6'41 now sits at No.53.
