WADAC Cross-Country season 2018-19 awards - junior winners announced
WADAC's coaches and team managers faced some difficult choices when selecting the winners of the 2018-19 junior cross-country awards. There were many contenders in what has been a season of unprecedented achievement by the Winchester teams. In the end however, decisions had to be made, and these deserving winners were announced last week :Under 11 Girls - Poppy Taylor, following another season where she was first home for WADAC on nearly every occasion and only once finished outside the top 10.Under 11 Boys - Will Hasan, for two race wins out of two at Hampshire League and silver medals at the annual County Championships.Under 13 Girls - Emma Shedden, again WADAC's leading finisher in almost every race and a regular in the top 20.Under 13 Boys - James Lewis, for a spectacular season which included a clean sweep of all Hampshire League races and leading the trio who won the club's first ever national-level junior team medals.Under 15 Girls - Rose Chesterfield, who was a multiple medal winner during the season (Hampshire League & Championships) and also ran superbly at both National Relays and National Championships.Under 15 Boys - Sam Roberts, for a breakthrough season which included 4th in the County Championships and top 50 at the National Championships as well as team gold and silver medals at county level.Under 17 Girls - Isabella Beck, for medal-winning performances at Hampshire League, despite losing several weeks of the season to illness.The picture shows James, Emma, Will, Issy & Poppy with their awards.
