Vet Ladies Dominate at Hampshire Cross Country League

For the final event of the series the sun shone and it felt like a spring day. Popham, usually a cold and muddy course, was transformed into a firm, fast and maybe not warm, but pleasant day. Over all, in the senior ladies, Reading proved too strong and convincingly took the ladies team title winning 4 out of 5 races this season. We came a very respectable 3rd. Erin Wilmers had a brilliant run coming in 9th, followed by Joanne Clarke in 24th and Charlotte Hoskins 27th. The Vet ladies continued their domination of the league winning the final event – making it 5 team wins out of 5. Charlie Hoskins (team manager) surprised herself coming in 1st vet very closely followed by Emma Carter 4th and then Fiona Bolton an impressive 13th (on tired legs having run 19 miles the day before!). Individually, Helen Hall narrowly missed out on 3rd place, tying with Georgia Hayes on 22 points but due to count back was given 4th. In the Vets Charlie Hoskins and Sam Parkinson also tied with 16 points but due to count back Charlie was awarded 2nd and Sam 3rd . We have had fantastic support by many members in all weathers and terrains this season thank you all.
