Adrian Haughton
I am very sad to announce that Adrian Haughton has died. He passed away peacefully at home with his family earlier this week.
nAdrian was an enthusiastic member of the WADAC senior endurance group, often at the centre of activities, be it helping to organise training nights, introducing new members to the club and working on the WADAC committee.
nAdrian was a great friend to many people in the club and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Janet and his family at this time.
nAdrian's funeral will be on Tuesday 9th March at 11:30 am. For obvious reasons attendance will be strictly limited. Janet and the family will be setting up a donations page for charities close to Adrian's heart, which we will forward.
nAdrian was also an event director with the Winchester parkrun. The Winchester parkrun team wanted to arrange something to give everyone a chance to be part of the day and to commemorate and honour Adrian. They are asking people to run a (not)parkrun on the day of Adrian’s funeral. I am sure many WADAC members will want to support this event in commemoration of Adrian’s life. It will allow people to dedicate some time to remember Adrian, do a little activity, which he definitely would have approved of, show support for Janet and the family and to be part of the day.
nAll you have to do is walk, jog or run a 5k (could be outside, could be on a tread mill); then log it as a (not)parkrun through your parkrun profile. Please do obey all the prevailing social distancing guidelines and avoid the official Winchester parkrun course at North Walls Rec.
nIf you’ve not registered for parkrun the you can do so at: www.Parkrun.org.uk/register
nAdrian will be greatly missed by so many at the club.
