nWe are using the Opentrack system to record results as it is the strategic system for race entries as recommended by England Athletics and enables us to publish results very quickly after each event, meaning they do not need to be displayed at the track.
nOpentrack is a fantastic system but it relies completely on people submitting an accurate performance estimate when they enter, to enable races to be graded and seeded correctly. Over half the competitors didn't provide an accurate performance which is completely understandable given there has been virtually no track & field for two years, but this has meant a good deal of work in providing these performance estimates for them, which has led to the races being made up the way that they have.
nWe cannot amend either the make up of races or the lane order on the day so please do not ask us to do this. If a competitor does not turn up then their lane will be left empty, but the races will be run as shown in Opentrack.
n Despite the covid restrictions, despite the lack of training facilities during lockdown and despite very few of the club's athletes having competed for 2 years, I am immensely proud that the club has been one of the very first in the country to put on an open meeting and I look forward to a fantastic day's track & field.
