Last Weekend's round-up

The performances are coming thick and fast right now but as promised it is worth mentioning some amazing performances at the weekend just gone.
nAt the biggish jumps and throws festival in Bedford on Bank Holiday Monday U20 Harry Crosby (coach Andy Fisher) leapt out to 7.20m in the long jump to take 3rd place and consolidate his place at 3rd in the UK U20 rankings. This is just 30cm shy of the qualifying distance for the European Junior Championships and moves Harry up to joint 2nd in the club's all-time rankings. England youth international Jess Gordon (coach Tony Bateman) went to the top of the club's HJ rankings with a leap of 1.61m at the same meeting.
n On the same day in Aldershot, sisters Natasha & Rebecca Mitchell (walks coach Clare Mitchell) went 2nd & 3rd respectively in the club's all time 5000m walk rankings with good performances in hot conditions. Vets Dave Vosser (self coached), Jane Gandee and Alison Fenwick (both coached by Dave Vosser) all ran well
nAlso on Bank Holiday Monday, Arabella Wilson (coach Andy Fisher) went 3rd on the club's all time pentathlon rankings by coming 2nd in the Surrey Schools combined events champs in Kingston. This included an 11m+ shot putt performance which broke the club record.
nOn the Saturday, Freddie Kaine (coach Martin McBriar) opened his season in the discus in an open meeting in Cheltenham where Grace Weeks (coach Martin McBriar) and Sam Clifton (coach Jeremy Clifton) also competed.
nMore great performances came in mid-week, look out for the report.
