WADAC win 2nd lower age group YDL match

You may have thought that a spate of self isolations, holidays and sunshine seeking traffic was going to get the better of our lower age group YDL team but the U13s and U15s pulled out all the stops to triumph in their 2nd lower YDL match of the season meaning the club is unbeaten in all 6 track & field fixtures in the age groups U20 and below this season.
nToo many amazing performances to mention not least the Team Managers with all the last minute juggling but some are too good to pass by. Oscar Webb (coach Tony Bateman) broke the club's U15 age group high jump record with a mighty leap of 1.85m that takes him to 2nd in the UK rankings. Ethan Skipwith (Andy Fisher) had 3 individual wins on the day including a time of 2 mins 20.6 secs in the 800m which is good enough for 3rd place in the club's all time U13 boys list. Abi Belward (Andy Fisher) won both the high jump and long jump in which she leapt 5.09m to go 3rd on the club's all time U15 girls list and remarkably became the 5th WADAC girl to jump over 5m this season.
nThe throwers and endurance runners were all in good form contributing good points totals for the team and also mucked in with relay teams that clinched the win at the end of the day. The U13 girls relay quartet of Bethan Bewick (Dave Sherry), Lucia Bertacchini (Andy Fisher), Lily Flute & Sophie Brush (both U13 academy) broke the club record with a time of 55.6 which is also good enough for 6th in the UK rankings.
