Congratulations to Stuart Horsewood
Congratulations to Stuart Horsewood for becoming a level 2 timekeeper in July this year.
n
n
nThis means that we now have three level 2 timekeepers at the Club, with Simon Stevens and Alison Fenwick being the other two. They are qualified to be Chief Timekeepers which is an important role for us to fill in home matches.
n
n
n
nOver effectively a nine month period (excluding the interruption caused by Covid) Stuart has time kept at 22 matches.
n
n
n
nThey included the Wessex League, South Athletics League, UYDL, LYDL, numerous England and Hampshire and West Wessex Schools Championship meetings, Grand Prix meetings and even a whole-evening Magic Mile event here in Winchester.
n
n
n
nStuart has worked alongside some of the best timekeepers in the country, who can match the electronic photofinish times for accuracy and who were always very willing to share their knowledge and experiences with him.
n
n
n
nHe is very dedicated and even over the last two weeks when there has been few local fixtures, he has spent his time in an armchair timekeeping in front of the tv to see if he can match his reaction times against the photofinish times in the Tokyo Olympics. Now that is dedication.
n
n
n
nThank you to Stuart and the other officials for all that they do to support the athletes and the club. Without them, we could not hold any meetings.
