U13 & U15's win 3rd and final YDL match of the season
The clubs young athletes continued their winning form by notching up their 3rd win in the LAG YDL on Saturday. This maintains the youngsters unbeaten record in league matches this season with 8 consecutive wins in our 3 different leagues and just 1 more match to come in the Wessex league on the 19th September.
nThe YDL wins cannot be taken for granted as an outstanding Team Dorset team are in the same league with this team full of quality young athletes.
nThe usual amazing performances were recorded across run, hurdle, throw and jump but special mention should be given to those breaking no fewer than 6 club records on the day.
nBeth Mballa (coach Heather Sheffield) will not want the season to end as she continues her record breaking throwing with a putt of 9.53m in the shot putt to smash the U13 girls club record.
nRosa-May Sprake (coached out of club) threw 31.30m to win the U15 girls discus and break her own club record. Zac Reynolds (coach Andy Fisher) ran 20.30 secs to win the U13 boys 150m and break the club record.
nThe U13 girls 4 x 100m relay team of Bethan Burley (coach Dave Sherry), Lucia Bertacchini, Lily Flute & Chloe Poore (all Andy Fisher coached) took a tenth of a second of their existing club record by finishing 3rd in 55.50 secs.
nThe U15 girls 4 x 100m relay team were also in record breaking form with the team of Grace Weeks (coach Gary Bettridge), Abi Belward, Carys Jeffries & Arabella Wilson (all Andy Fisher coached) winning in a time of 52.00 secs.
nThree of those U15 girls Abi, Carys & Arabella alongside Frankie Moulds (coach Andy Fisher) then took on the 4 x 300m and demolished the club record by no less than 6.5 secs in finishing 2nd in 2 mins 56.6 secs. Credit to the winners Team Dorset who ran .6 sec quicker to win the race and top the UK rankings.
nLeague action returns on the 19th September with just 3 more weeks until the track & field season ends.
