Outstanding results from WADAC in the 2021 London Marathon

30 runners from Winchester & District AC took part in the Virgin Money London Marathon last Sunday. The top non-elite runners, Ben Findlay (2:37), Lloyd Dickson (2:38), Richard Bidgood (2:39), Sarah Gurney (2:54) and Sarah Shedden (3:08) all achieved a Qualifying time for the Championship start for the VMLM 2022 race and 25 out of the 30 runners came in under 4 hours.
nThe team of 30 runners, coached by Head of Endurance Nick Anderson, consisted of 13 women and 17 men with ages ranging from seniors to V75’s. Top ten category results were reported by Sarah Gurney 2nd, Joy Radford 4th and Shirley Dyson Laurie 7th and 19 runners achieved Good For Age qualifying times for the 2022 race.
nDespite a year of absence London didn’t disappoint, with a tremendous atmosphere of music, live bands, cheering and crowds of several deep throughout the entire route – a few beers were had afterwards to celebrate and we are all certainly looking forward to next year.
