Record breaking start to indoor season

The indoor track & field season got underway in spectacular style as the junior and senior multi-event groups (coach Andy Fisher) took part in the traditional indoor season opener at Lee Valley on Sunday.
nU13 girl Lily Flute was the star of the show setting no fewer than 3 new club indoor records in 60mH, 60m and LJ respectively. Zac Reynolds established an U15 boys' 300m club indoor record and also ran a pb over 600m and won his long jump pool.
nIsobel Jordan showed what good progress she is making by going 2nd on the club's 300m indoor record list and also running pbs in 60m hurdles and the flat 60m. Nyima Sanyang ran well on her competitive debut over the hurdles and Lucia Bertacchini broke the indoor club record for 300m, as well as going 3rd in the all time indoor lists for the 60m hurdles and long jump. All three girls are in the U15 age group with Isobel & Lucia making their first appearance in this age group.
nThree girls were making their first appearance at U17 level and Arabella Wilson did this in style by going under the 8 sec mark for the 60m and breaking the indoor club record in doing so. Bella also went 3rd in the HJ indoor lists with a huge pb of 1.57m and 2nd in the shot put lists. Carys Jeffries went 3rd in the club's all time 60m list with a rapid 8.20 sec run and Abi Belward went 3rd in the 60m hurdles lists and also consistently went around the 5m mark in the LJ.
nTwo of our established U17s also competed, with Claudia Hargreaves going 3rd on the indoor shot put lists with a pb of 8.60m, despite feeling pretty rough on the day. Poppy Shroff ran an outstanding time of 9.10 in the 60m hurdles which puts her 2nd on the all time club lists and currently ranks her 5th in the UK.
nCarys & Bella will be action again at another open meeting next Sunday where they will be joined by training partner Amy.
