Sensational Stu comes 5th in UK indoor champs

Stuart McCallum (self coached) showed he belonged in the best middle distance company the country has to offer by finishing 5th in the 3000m at the UK indoor champs in Birmingham yesterday.In a race screened live on BBC online, Stu raced in the middle of the pack in a slow run first 2K before Mark Scott introduced a ferocious burst of speed for the last 1000m but Stu moved his way to the front of the second pack of runners and finished 5th in a new pb of 8 mins 3.27 secs which is a new pb and good enough to break Tom Anderson's indoor club record.Stu is having a real breakthrough season after securing his GB vest and competing in the European cross country champs he has now finished 5th in the UK indoor champs showing considerable speed to go with his endurance base and it will be exciting to see what Stu can do in an outdoor season which offers so many championship opportunities.
