Club has best ever indoor track & field season

With all focus now on the main (outdoor) track & field season it is worth reflecting on the club’s performance in the Winter months where no fewer than 59 all time top 3 indoor performances were achieved of which 5 of these were new overall club records (any age group). All these indoor records have now been updated on this website.

nThe most remarkable statistic of all however which reflects the breadth of performances across all age groups and event disciplines is that the club’s athletes achieved top 5 finishes in all 5 national championships.
nStuart McCallum (self coached) led the way with a top 5 finish at the UK indoor senior championships breaking the club’s indoor 3000m record along the way. Arabella Wilson, Harry Crosby & Lucia Bertacchini (coach Andy Fisher) all achieved top 5 finishes at the national indoor age group champs. Moira West & Kathryn Miles (coach Elias Mtshweni) achieved top 5 finishes at the national indoor masters champs. Grace Colmer (coach Andy Fisher) achieved a top 5 finish at the national senior & U20 indoor Combined Event champs and finally Rebekah Smith (coach Andy Fisher) achieved a top 5 finish at the national age group Combined Event champs. Very few clubs in the country can boost this proud record.
nIn addition the club had a record breaking medal haul at the South of England champs again across the senior/U20 age groups, the U13/U15/U17 age groups and in the Masters champs both individually and for Combined Events.
nRecords are already tumbling in the few weeks that the outdoor season has been going and I look forward to updating these and many more to come over the next few months.
