Grace finishes 3rd in National Combined Events Champs

The senior & U20 National Combined Event Champs took place in Bedford on Saturday and Sunday and this also included an U18 championship which served as the trials for the European U18 champs with 5200 points being the very demanding target for qualification.
nGrace Colmer and Arabella Wilson (both coached by Andy Fisher) took part and 16 year old Grace had the competition of her life, setting no fewer than 6 pb's and finishing in 3rd place with 5063 points. Not quite good enough for the European Champs standard but good enough for 12th place in the world U18 rankings in her last heptathlon with the U18 specifications.
nGrace started with a hurdles pb, then high jumped just 1cm below her pb and followed this with a pb in shot putt and a massive pb in the 200m. Day 2 started with a soild long jump followed by further pb's in javelin and the 800m meaning Grace broke the 5000m points barrier for the first time.
n15 year old Bella faced heartbreak as she recorded 3 no jumps in the long jump leaving her no choice but to withdraw but all was not lost as she ended day one with with a lightning quick 200m of 24.86 the 2nd fastest time ever recorded by a WADAC female and good enough for 8th in the U17W UK rankings. It is also worth noting that Bella has already run an Euro U18 qualifying standard in the 400m hurdles.
