Grace comes 4th at National Champs

17 year old Grace Colmer (coach Andy Fisher) finished in an agonising 4th place at the first national champs of the indoor season the senior & U20 national combined event championships in Sheffield on Saturday. Grace was 4th in the womens U20 event. Whilst disappointed not to make the podium, Grace can be pleased with her days work which saw her go through the 3500 points barrier for the first time, breaking a formidable indoor club record previously held by Anna Newton.Grace started the day well with a solid hurdles run of 9.06 secs and followed this with a new indoor pb of 1.60m in the high jump. A further pb followed in the shot putt where Grace went out to 10.35m before a disappointing long jump of 5.32m left her with too much to do in the 800m to win a medal. Nevertheless Grace added 80 points to last years overall total and improved a place from 5th to 4th and Grace still remains in the U20 age group next year.
