Junior Endurance Athletes Compete at English Schools Cross Country Championships

Eleven young athletes from the clubs Junior Endurance Groups were selected to represent their county on Saturday. First to race on the day were the junior girls with the ever-consistent duo of Poppy Taylor (51st) and Kate Atkinson (118th) the first two Hampshire runners home. In the junior boys, Ivor Martin finished strongly in 94th with Seth Noot close on his heels in 119th. Seb Murray was the third of the WADAC contingent finishing in 290th. In the intermediate boys, Will Atkins continued his fine form finishing in 21st place. Reuben Price, the lower end of the age group, claimed 35th place and Oscar Newberry representing Dorset finished in 69th. Eve Bailey finished off a strong season coming in 118th place in the intermediate girls. Jasmine Gosse (146th) ran in the senior girls with Ben Chesterfield (236th) being the last to race in a very strong senior boys field.
nAs the cross country season comes to an end, attention now switches to the track and the middle-distance events.
