Moira breaks the British age group record again!

Moira West (coach Elias Mtshweni) broke her own British indoor 60m V70 womens british record at the England Masters inter area challenge match at Lee Valley on Sunday. Moira recorded a time of 9.82 secs taking 3 hundredths of a second off her previous mark set in the same event last year. Moira will be 74 next month yet seems to get younger and quicker with every year that goes by and attributes much of her recent success to warm weather training. Moira obviously won the V70 60m race by some distance to take maximum points for the Southern Counties Masters team who finished 3rd in the overall area challenge on the day.Kathryn Miles (coach Elias Mtshweni) took part in the V50 200m race and was 3rd for the Southern Counties area in a time of 30.44 secs. Moira & Kathryn then teamed up to make up half the V35 4 x 200m relay team which finished 3rd.Moira received a special award as one of 3 women from the club setting new British age group records last year and will no doubt need to find a space on the mantlepiece for another award to be presented at the clubs awards night at the end of the year.
