HRRL Alton 10

The Alton 10 is one of the long standing fixtures in the HRRL Road Race League....it's a bit like Marmite, some love it and do it every year and some just don't!
nThis year we had a new course with the organisers having dreamed up some new ways around the lovely undulating country roads to the East of Alton.....technically everyone enjoyed the chance to post a course best time.
nSandwiched between the Spring Marathon's and the shorter sharper stuff we enjoy doing over the summer Alton is always a challenge for team managers and this year was no different. Whilst we were a bit down on overall numbers we were well represented with high quality performances at the very front and a number of proper 10-mile PB's in our number.
nAmongst the ladies we had Tamsin Anderson (1st), Karla Borland (5th), Sarah Gurney (6th) and Caroline Carr (21st) making up our A team.
nAnd amongst the men we had Andy Greenleaf (2nd), Stuart McClay (15th), James Moore (21st), Tom Stephenson (47th) and Paul Horler (65th) making up our A team. That was Andy's first runout at Alton since 2010 and PB's for Tom and Paul, great stuff guys!
nIt takes a wee while for the results to filter through to HRRL league scores but going into the Alton event our ladies A and our mens A team were top of their leagues.
nThe HRRL is an inclusive league with many clubs, including ourselves, running B and C teams....ahead of Alton our ladies B & C were 2nd in their leagues and our mens B & C were 1st in their leagues. All looking strong but not yet time to relax with still 3 events to go.
nThe next event is Netley 10k on 21st May....that one may be already sold out but there are spaces for Alresford 10k and Lordshill 10k.
