Will runs sub 4

As well as some amazing WADAC performances at the clubs open meeting on Wednesday, we had 8 athletes in action around the country. Will Atkins (coach Nick Anderson) went under the 4 mins barrier for the first time in his 1500m race at the Hercules Wimbledon 1500m festival night and in doing so U17M Will improved his own standing in 2nd place on the clubs all time age group list.At the Watford Open Helen Hall (coach Nick Anderson) continued her fine form finishing just a smidge outside her own club V35 masters record in 9 mins 33.63 secs. Training partner Lily Neate (coach Nick Anderson) took on the same distance and recorded a seasons best time of 9 mins 53.37 secs as did Rose Chesterfield (coach Nick Anderson) who also recorded a seasons best time of 10 mins 24.10 secs.Loughborough was both cold and windy for their open meeting and therefore was never going to be the place for the fast times hoped for but nevertheless Alex Beck (coach Mark Upton) took some good scalps in winning his 400m race. Arabella Wilson (coach Andy Fisher) managed a seasons best time of 56.70 in her 400m race and Beth Austin (coach Andy Fisher) struggled in the worst of all conditions for 400m hurdlers. In Crawley, Jess Howells (coach Andy Fisher) won the Surrey schools combined events champs with a series of fine performances. Jess put in a huge leap of 5.42m to record a pb and win the LJ and also threw her beloved javelin 39.11m for a seasons best distance. Her overall points score of 3219 saw her win the Surrey title by 10 points.
