RR10 Race 4, Cadland Estate - Results
What an incredible night that turned out to be, you know you have had a great evening when there are midges in the corner of your eye rather than mascara the following morning!
nWinchester men won the team event with Chris Powner winning the overall race, James Moore 8th, Paul Boyd Leslie 11th, Jack England 12th and Pete Sansome 16th. An incredibly strong men's team, please can we have a repeat performance on 7th June. It was great to see Adam Perry making his debut performance, finishing in a very smart 51st position. Well done Adam!
nOur ladies team finished 2nd with Ellie Davies winning the ladies race, super charged Vanessa Monteleone 8th and wonderful to have Ellie Swire's return at 9th. Lynne Whitaker made a surprise and very welcome guest appearance, showing us all how to do it, finishing 16th. Power!
nCadland is the furthest fixture and numbers were down due to amongst other things, half term holiday. 241 men ran last night, 40 less than the previous race, 21 of them from WADAC. 172 ladies ran, 25 less than the previous race and 7 from WADAC.
nIt was a perfect, sunny, warm and blue sky evening with an interesting and varied one lap course of 4.4 miles. Everyone gave the course a thumbs up, it involved wooded areas, a very cool out and back section (where you were able to get swept away by watching the sharper end of the racing, unless you were in the sharper end and then you probably don't see anything other than the road ahead), gravel, dusty tracks and very short and very sharp undulations.

nSo, back on it, next Wednesday 7th June and another fun stampede through the trees at Ampfield Woods, 7.30pm.
nA big plea to the ladies, please come and run, the course is bound to be drier than last year. We are equal with Stubbington ladies at the moment and need to pack our top 5 positions at the next races.
nSee you there.
