Three WADAC athletes took part for their respective universities at the British Universities & Colleges champs in Manchester over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The best of these was Sam Clifton (coach Jeremy Clifton) representing Birmingham University who finished in 4th place in the mens hammer yesterday with a best throw of 50.79m. Maddie Turner (coach John Miller) representing Durham University just missed out on a place in the 400m hurdles semi finals after finishing 4th in her heat on Saturday in a time of 1 min 08.26 secs. Charlotte Longden (coach Andy Fisher) representing Leeds University was 4th in her 100m heat on Saturday in a time of 12.79 secs and 5th in her 200m heat on Sunday in a time of 26.50 secs.

Elsewhere yesterday Harry Harvey (coach James Thie) ran a time of 4 mins 22.07 secs in one of the many mile races at the 70th anniversary Bannister mile event in Oxford and in doing so went to 3rd on the clubs all time lists knocking good friend James Hennegan off the lists who like Harry recorded his time as an U20 athlete.
