Paralympic personal best day at track is huge success

Club comes together to help the local community

Last Thursday David Howells from the senior endurance group and Andy Fisher Head of track & field volunteered their time for the day as they do every year to host the track & field programme as part of the Paralympic personal best day superbly organised by the City Council and hosted by our partners at Winchester University.

The day sees 200 or so adults and children with learning difficulties take part in 6 sports all facilitated by local sports clubs and David & Andy coached running and throwing respectively to give the particpants a taste of track & field.

Last year's events inspired the creation of our own training group for those with learning difficulties and this has been up and running for a year now brilliantly coached by Stewert Lang on Thursdays at 5.30pm. The group are completely integrated into a normal WADAC club session.

Anyone interested in joining the group should contact Andy who will put them in touch with Stewart.
