Senior team win 3rd SAL match
To Top League Table (SAL)
The 3rd match of division 1 of the Southern Athletics League took place in Bournemouth on Sunday the 9th July and just like the first two resulted in a win for WADAC who now sit proudly on top of the division 1 league table.
The club was able to field a very strong team on the day and recorded no fewer than 36 wins across the various A & B string womens and mens events including a woman of the match performance from Helen Hall (coach Nick Anderson) in the womens 1500m.
The club’s mens hammer record was broken by Sam Clifton (coach Jeremy Clifton), the club’s 4 x 100m womens record was broken by Elsie Brindle (coach Mark Upton), Tabitha Williamson, Charlotte Longden & Arabella Wilson (all 3 coached by Andy Fisher) and there were all time top 3 performances recorded by Amy Wall (coach Andy Fisher) in the long jump, Arabella Wilson (coach Andy Fisher) in the shot putt and Oliver Thatcher (coach Andy Fisher) in the triple jump.
The club’s last SAL match of the season is at home on Saturday the 19th August and we hope to field as strong a team as possible to try to secure promotion to Division 1 of the SAL for the first time in the club’s history.
