Harestock Handicap Results for October

There were 24 runners in the October Handicap including 1 event newbie, Kevin Stephenson visiting from Scotland. It was a strange night for the handicapper who dropped a bit of a clanger with the spreadsheet yet still managed a blanket finish with 14 runners in the sweetspot 10secs either side of par. Many thanks to Joe Chick and James Moore for taking their honesty pills and self-correcting to run with their correct handicaps. Anyway after all that Chris Setters was our winner with a hard fought victory over Colin Mcmanus with Carrie Oliver in third. Fastest on the night was Joe Chick in 6'12 and in total we had 8 runners sub-7. Of those there were PB's for Matt Kurton (6'40 and up to No.34 on the honours board), Colin McManus (6'42 and No.38), Steve O (6'50 and #45) and Steve Cluett (6'56 and #53).In the overall standings Adrian Field is still our leader but being chased closely by Carrie Oliver, Steve Oliver and the rapidly improving Colin McManus. It promises to be a close run thing with 2 races to go and 1 more discard yet to be fed into the calculations. It may be too late for a newcomer to get into the running for the overall title but each individual race is still fun to be part of and ny being in that stampede for the line you can affect the overall outcome. There are 2 more Handicap events this year Thursday 10th Nov and Thursday 1st Dec, do come along and join in.
