Harestock Handicap results Jan 2017

The 2017 Handicap series is up and running with Ian Wilson prevailing over Tim Mason and Andy Gannaway in a close finish to the January event. Overall we had 25 runners out contesting this first handicap of the year, including 2 very welcome event newbies in Tim Mason and Sarah Gilfoyle. We also saw the welcome return of Richard Nichols, Pete Watts, Andy Gannaway and Sarah Aldridge after various periods of absence....some longer than others Richard! There was good racing throughout the field with 10 runners meeting or beating their handicap and with 10 runners in the sweetspot many of us enjoyed a bit of the thrill of being in a blanket finish. nFastest on the night was James Moore in 6'18 from Joe Chick in 6'29 but it was not really a night for fast running and no-one really threatened their PB on the "sub 7" honours board.

nInterestingly enough after one race Ian Wilson leads the overall standings from Tim Mason and Andy Gannaway. If you couldn't make it to the January event don't worry all is not lost as there are plenty races and plenty discards to come....the next event is the first Thursday of February, ie on the 2nd of Feb meet at the track 18.45 for 19.00.
