Harestock Handicap Overall Series results for 2016

Going into the final race the Harestock Handicap series in 2016 was finely balanced with perhaps 4 runners still in with a chance of taking the overall prize and needing only a few places either way to swing the result. On the night all the main protagonists were somewhere in mid pack with Carrie Oliver's 8th place giving her just enough daylight to pip Colin McManus (11th on the night) and Adrian Field (17th on the night) and take the trophy.

nThe 2016 series was the 5th year of this popular monthly event and saw no fewer than 93 different runners taking part and a total of 300 race attempts over the year (an average of 25 runners each month). It was a year that saw a number of runners achieve PB's round the 1.1mile lap and a new course record of 5'43 was set by Tom Oliver in July 2016 race.

nThe Harestock Handicap is free to enter and takes place on the first Thursday of each month. The Handicap forms part of an SOS endurance training session (the full session includes about 5miles of social running as well as the Handicap race itself) and we meet at the track 18.45 for 19.00 departure.
