RR10 Race 5, Results
Not quite a balmy evening last night at Race 5 of the RR10's at Fleming Park, it was a bit breezy.
nAs always, quite a spectacle at Fleming Park with 368 runners zig-zagging along the grass tracks and then popping in and out of the woodland areas. We had 19 men and 10 ladies come along. Pete Sansome was once again the first WADAC man finishing 8th. Fabulous to see some first timers this season; John Gore was back and finished a very respectable 55th, Matt Grote 18th, David Vosser 74th, Colin Mcmanus (looking every bit the Scotsman) 83rd and Steve Cluett 90th. The men's team comprised of Pete, Matt Grote, James Moore 20th, John Gore and Martyn West 57th. This meant our first men's team finished 7th, taking us to 9th in the league table.
nFor the ladies, Imogen Emmett made her debut and was the first WADAC lady home in 11th position. Imogen was joined by Sam Parkinson 13th and Charlie Hoskins 20th to make up our first ladies team. The team finished 5th which means we are now 4th in the league table. Great to see Sarah Aldridge at her first RR10 this season too.
nWell done to all, particularly Jo Jefferies who finished a very strong 28th, even with the South Downs Relay fresh in her legs.
nNext race is Race 6 at Manor Farm Country Park on Wednesday 21st June at 7.30pm. See you there.
